We use industry-leading BIM (Building Information Modeling) software from Autodesk, Inc. to create a complete 3D virtual model of your home. Every floor plan, elevation, section, and detail is generated directly from that model, which means that when something is revised anywhere in the design, it automatically updates across all views.
Because we are truly “building” your home virtually, we cannot produce a drawing that looks beautiful but isn’t constructible. This process reduces errors, improves coordination, and results in accurate, ready-to-build plans that accurately communicates how your home will be constructed.
Our construction drawings are rich in detail and provide the level of information a builder needs to build confidently. Every set includes door and window sizes, general specifications, and comprehensive notes that clarify how the home should be constructed. We include multiple building sections that cut through the structure to show floor levels, wall construction, beam locations, and more. Structural elements and shear wall compliance information are clearly identified, along with extensive dimensions and annotations throughout. Detailed roof plans show all roof slopes, ridge lines, valleys, and roof elements. Exterior elevations include material callouts, floor and plate heights, and critical vertical dimensions. We also provide construction details where needed to illustrate how components connect and perform, ensuring a smooth and accurate building process.
Color renderings of the exterior and black-and-white renderings of the interior provide a realistic preview of your home before construction begins. These images give you a sense of the architectural style, materials, and the feel of the main interior spaces — almost like a photograph of the finished home. They also serve a practical purpose for your builder. When everyone can see the intended look of rooflines, windows, trim, finishes, stairways, and interior volumes, there is far less room for interpretation or misunderstanding. Clear visual communication avoids confusion, reduces change orders, and helps ensure that what is built on site matches the design intent.
Matthew brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience to every project — not only as a residential designer, but from actually framing and finishing houses. This practical background gives him a deep understanding of how structures go together and what works on site. Over the years he has worked with many different builders, listening closely to their feedback and incorporating what they need into the drawings. This experience results in plans that are not only attractive on paper, but practical, buildable, and respectful of real-world construction methods. Builders appreciate the clarity, detail, and thoughtful coordination in his drawings, because they make the job easier, faster, and more efficient.
